  • Laurie Rabut

    Executive Director

    Laurie is a musician, educator, and mindfulness practitioner. With a lifelong interest in community service, she is passionate about the healing capacity of restorative practice. Laurie brings organization, education, and communication skills to her work with RCPVT.

  • Dan DeWalt

    Founder and Board Member

    Dan is a musician, woodworker, and teacher who has had an interest in justice his entire life. He was a co-founder of Vermont Independent Media, has served on the Newfane town select board, and has worked on many public campaigns promoting a more vibrant democracy.

  • Soraya Matos

    Restorative Programming Coordinator

    Soraya is an educator and mindfulness practitioner. Recently moved to the area after living in Florida for 20+ years. As a school principal Soraya was in charge of the integral implementation of restorative practices and mindfulness. She has first hand experience of the transformative effect these practices have in the school environment.

  • Rev. Ralph W. Howe

    Board Member

    A Wilmington, VT local, Ralph is the newest addition to the RCPVermont team. After practicing law for thirteen years, Ralph attended Bangor Theological Seminary and The United Theological Seminary at McGill University and was ordained in the United Methodist Church. He retired from full-time ministry in 2021, and now lives in Brattleboro and serves as a pastor at the Beloved Community/First United Methodist Church. Ralph remains committed to anti-racism, ministry with the poor and marginalized, and urban ministry.

  • Patricia Halloran

    Board Member

    Pat has lived in southern Vermont for 45 plus years and is always impressed how small communities support one another.  Restorative Community Practices is at the core. Pat is a long time educator with a brief, post- retirement stint working with green energy options.

  • Gary Keiser

    Board Member

    Gary Keiser is a Buddhist cleric, educator, and writer/musician. He is a father and resides in southern Vermont with his wife and small stable of Newfoundland dogs. He is a founding member of Restorative Community Practice since its inception and currently acts as treasure for RCP.

  • John Kersey

    Board Member

    John writes, makes art, teaches English, works with the land, swims, and coordinates restorative practices at the high school level. He does this stuff with his partner and children, and with his community, in southern Vermont.
